In June, a team from the Greater Shepparton City Council took time to visit the Furphy Foundry, and became acquainted with one of the town’s greatest success stories.
The team, from the Council’s Projects Department, were given the full tour of the foundry, and gained an understanding of the company’s rich history, its connection to the region, and its vision for the future.
James Nolan, Project Management Office Team Leader, said the tour was comprehensive, giving his team an opportunity to understand the products and the methods of manufacturing used on site, including the casting process, and the ability to customise products.
“We were impressed by the history of the organisation and the focus on using services in the local region,” said Mr Nolan.
“Many of our team who are locals enjoyed seeing the operations of a well-known and respected company. Thank you for your time and hospitality.”
