Furphy Foundry Street Furniture at Melbourne Park
Home to the Australian Open, Melbourne Park is one of Australia’s premier sporting and entertainment precincts, welcoming millions of visitors for major events throughout the year.
Furphy Foundry was engaged to manufacture and supply a range of street furniture for the Melbourne Park precinct, including Avenue Litter Receptacles and Foreshore Drinking Fountains.
A total of 22 Avenue Litter Receptacles were supplied across the precinct, comprising both 120L and 240L general waste and recycling units. Manufactured with galvanised and powder coated steel frames in Anotec Silver Grey and finished with hardwood timber slats, the receptacles provide a durable waste management solution suited to the demands of this high-traffic public environment.
The project also incorporated Furphy Foundry’s Foreshore Drinking Fountain. Manufactured from 316-grade stainless steel with an electro-polished finish, the Foreshore is designed specifically for durability and longevity in busy public spaces. Its WaterMark-certified plumbing components provide a safe and reliable drinking water solution for visitors to the precinct.
Manufactured in Australia, the products complement the contemporary landscape of Melbourne Park while providing robust, practical infrastructure capable of supporting the large crowds associated with the Australian Open and the precinct’s year-round calendar of events.
The project demonstrates Furphy Foundry’s ability to manufacture high-quality Australian-made street and park furniture for some of the country’s most prominent public destinations.
