Inviting Picnic Settings at Hornsby Secret Garden

Situated in the heart of Hornsby, Lisgar Gardens is a beautiful hillside garden well-known for its wide range of Camellias. It is also known as the “Hornsby Secret Garden”, which has remained a secret to most of the residents though it has been open to the public for more than 40 years. It covers an extensive area of 2.6 hectares, planted with exotic plants, native trees, ferns and varieties of Camellias.

Standing on a steep hillside, the gardens were created on different levels using sandstone block walls. As years went by, the secret garden has grown and now boasts mass plantings, covered pavilion to hold weddings, a shade house with fish ponds, three waterfalls and rainforest walks among others. This paved the way for the council to add picnic settings to entice visitors and families to picnic amongst the gardens.

Furphy Foundry provided two (2) classically designed Fiesta Picnic Settings, constructed with treated hardwood timber slats and cast aluminium frames powder coated in Black Gloss. The settings’ unique and attractive design well-complimented the Secret Garden features. These Fiesta Picnic Settings provide additional seating for the area and are warm welcome to the gardens.
