These are the three words that best describe Furphy Foundry’s Steel Slatted furniture range. With a smooth, timeless aesthetic and a sturdy design, this range is suited to any public environment.

Our Steel Slatted picnic settings, seats and benches were recently chosen to be installed in Flinders Christian College, Tyabb Victoria.

Situated in the heart of Hornsby, Lisgar Gardens is a beautiful hillside garden well-known for its wide range of Camellias.

It is also known as the “Hornsby Secret Garden”, which has remained a secret to most of the residents though it has been open to the public for more than 40 years. It covers an extensive area of 2.6 hectares, planted with exotic plants, native trees, ferns and varieties of Camellias.

You won’t believe this stand-on-roof coaches shelter

Located in Toorak, Melbourne, St. Kevin’s College is an all-boys school offering primary and secondary education and has an array of sporting facilities within their sporting fields.

Recently, Furphy Foundry provided a new Players/Coaches Shelter for the school grounds. It was customised with a viewing platform on the top, at the request of the customer. We were able to design this shelter with platform based on our standard design while utilising the area’s natural topography, reducing supply and further construction costs.

Drinking fountains are an essential addition to all open space environments and locations such as schools, parks and sporting facilities as they provide clean and safe drinking water to the public.

With potable water readily available, people need not to carry around bottled water and canned soft drinks which reduces the accumulation of waste. While drinking fountains are beneficial to people and the environment, they may impose a safety hazard.

Located approximately 16 kilometres south-east of Melbourne CBD, Mount Waverley is one of 14 suburbs in the City of Monash, Melbourne.

It is a large suburb with significant areas of remnant native bushland and wetlands. Over the years, Mount Waverley has developed into an urban community. Meanwhile, some areas were able to preserve their natural resources. An example of this is the Valley Reserve where significant flora and fauna species can be found.

100% recycled aluminium

At Furphy Foundry, we manufacture our castings using 100% recycled aluminium to produce high quality, long lasting and low maintenance products.

Using 100% recycled aluminium is a significant sustainability practice, this accounts for more than 90% of the energy required in producing cast aluminium from the base material of bauxite. Aside from this, recycled aluminium also decreases emission of greenhouse gases by more than 15% vs the base material equivalent.

Custom seats floating on the botanical border

Sitting on the border of New South Wales and Victoria is the Moama and Echuca Botanic Gardens. With Furphy’s unparalleled experience in customising products, we were asked by Murray City Council to manufacture and supply three fully customised benches for the Botanic Gardens.

The seat design drawings were supplied by the city council and our task was to carry out the idea into reality, it’s very contemporary with no traditional seat leg supports which gives these seats the appearance of floating.

Powder Coating is an effective solution for finishing metal products due to its robust performance, durability and cost-efficiency.

In contrast with conventional liquid coating, powder coating has no liquid elements on it but rather uses dry powder in the process. There are three steps in powder coating process: pre-treatment, powder application and curing.

The area was redeveloped in accordance with the council’s vision 'to actively engage to bring Moorabbin to life by complementing its strong cultural role.’

Toowoomba City Library - Civic Square

The $27 million Toowoomba City Library officially opened its doors on Saturday the 27th of February, 2016. This 6,800 m2 building envelope has all the traditional library features but boasts a cutting edge modern design with high technology equipment.

The copper façade is a major element, identifying the library as the absolute city centre piece. The project was constructed by Hutchinson Builders, one of Australia’s oldest and largest private building and construction companies.
